What happens if the democratically elected Iraqi government decides it wants to evict the U.S. army and close off the country to American bases / troop movement?

The US puts up a stink and eventually leaves. The "anti-governemtn terrorists" become a lot less visible.
Then, you'll find that the anti-government terrorists are suddenly very well funded. Meanwhile, the military is trying to explain why tanks need Xerox machines, and why those machines cost $800,000 each.
