This Blog focusses primarily on commercial and government ethics as well as Canadian politics with digressions into international politics and anything else that seems relevant, interesting, amusing, or at the very least better than not posting at all

Jericho and Jeremiah? Well, they do both have post-apocalypse plots, but that's where the similarity ends.
Personally, I'm wondering if the people of Jericho will ever run out of food. Most towns/cities have a pretty small food supply that need to be constantly replenished from outside. But they don't seem to be rationing, they don't seem to be eating a lot of the same boring staples as the less plentiful food runs out, they don't seem to be trying to get food from other places.
One episode they did mention a few farms, and how the farms needed to be harvested, but the farmers didn't want to share (they wanted to sell), but the townsfolk came out and helped to harvest (to keep the bugs from destroying the corn fields). I keep waiting for off-hand mentions of eating nothing but corn, or figuring out what to do with raw oats, wheat, or barley, but they totally skip over food collection and prep, when you'd think it would rapidly become an important focus.
And yet, they're careful to keep the bar open, and casually mention they've got a still to keep the booze flowing...
Also, they don't seem to be preparing for winter (hope they're in a warm state!), and they don't seem to be running out of gas either. Ah, TV. Where the world can end, but day-to-day life never changes.

Really, I think it was just two sci-fi-ish shows starting with J that threw me off. The fact that they're both post-apocalyptic was just a bonus...
