FYI, Redux
For anyone out there who hadn't been operating under the assumption that Harper and Co. were a bunch of shameless liars just like the Republicans they take strategic advice from, the Globe and Mail has an article you should read. The rest of you, carry on.

Take a look at the "technnical briefing under the clean air regulatory agenda that was the subject of accusations in the House of Commons this week. It was claimed that the govt. was permitting the Alberta tar sands crowd to substantially increase GHG emissions to 2020 (by 60% in the case of Volatile Organics) and both Harper and Baird denied this in non responses. But it is true, see page 21 of th document, when you finally get to the document on a web pabe (Environment dept.) that has become as Byzantine as any I have seen. Every other sector of industry will have to reduce its emissions by then except the tar sands, which will go steaming right on the plantet killers of Canada.
