Luongo!
While I'm posting about sports, let me give the thumbs up to the Canucks deal to acquire Luongo. Total deal is Luongo, Krajicek and a 6th round pick for Bertuzzi, Allen and Auld. Now I'm not one of those people who is really down on Bertuzzi, but I just think that getting a high quality goaltender is so important, so I'm pleased by this news.
Krajicek, who managed to remain a plus one, playing 67 games with the Panthers at age 23 last year, could be a useful player as well.

Great deal for Vancouver - I was praying that the Sens' management would have the balls to deal for Luongo, but yet again they proved themselves incapable of addressing the team's glaring weakness: goaltending

If they don't sign him it will be an extended one year rental. I think getting rid of Bertuzzi was a good thing either way, but the deal's worth goes down quite a bit of a deal can't be worked out. And Luongo definitely doesn't seem all that excited to move up here.
Given all that, I'm looking forward to next season too. :)

It seems like the verdict is unanimous. As PhilipJ notes, the deal will be that much better if we can get Luongo signed for a few years. Hopefully Luongo's reaction was just disappointment with Florida, not necessarily reluctance to stay in Vancouver. It is a good sign that he seemed willing to sign a long-term deal in Florida, maybe he'll be wiling to do the same here.
It is summer, so maybe if he visits he will get a good impression of the place.

Does this mean that Mr. Cloutier gets to take his beachballs to, well, the beach for the duration?
